Tau Yew Bak ( Soya Sauce Pork Meat)

300g of Pork Belly
1 Potato
2 Hard Boiled Egg
12 cloves of garlic

3 tablespoon Dark Soya Sauce
3 tablespoon Light Soya Sauce
2 tablespoon Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
Dash of pepper
Water

Steps:

 


1. Cut the Pork Belly into the shapes you like
2. Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes
3. Crush the garlic. Can put in with the skin or without
4. Add in the hard boil eggs




Prepare the Sauce
1. Add dark soya sauce, light soya sauce, salt , sugar and pepper together
2. Add in 3 bowls of water or until cover the ingredients



Boil the soup and the ingredients for 30 minutes and then simmer until the meat is soft
Served with rice.

Mee Rebus ( Potato Based Soup Noodles)

1 kg of potatoes (sweet potatoes)
1 carrot
3 pc of groundnut biscuits
3 table spoon of Tomato Sauce
3 table spoon of Chilli Sauce (optional)
3 table spoon of Ground Peanuts ( optional)
Salt

4 eggs
Some prawns
Bean Sprouts
Tapioca Flour 
Multipurpose Flour

2 Taufu
Lettuce
Bean Sprouts

Half Packet of Spaghetti/Yellow Mee/Bee Hoon


Steps:
Prepare the Soup



1. Peel and cut the potatoes and carrots
2. Add water until cover the potatoes and carrots and boil until soft
3. Blend the potatoes and carrots with the water from the boil and add water until to the thickness that you prefer






4. Add in the Groundnut biscuits after mashed it up
5. Add in about 3 table spoon of tomato sauce
6. If you prefer some spicyness in the soup base, you can add in the chilli sauce
7. If you prefer some texture in the soup base, you can add in the ground peanuts
8. Add salt to taste

Prepare the side dishes 
 

A. Bean sprout Balls
1. Cracked two eggs into a bowl and beat it
2. Add in 7 table spoon of multipurpose flour and 1 table spoon of tapioca flour
3. Wash the bean sprouts and add into this mixture. 
4. Make into small balls and fry. For kids you can add prawns instead of bean sprout for them



 

B. Prawn Crackers
1. Cracked two eggs into a bowl and beat it
2. Add in 2 table spoon of multipurpose flour and 1 table spoon of tapioca flour
3. Minced the prawns and add in. Add water until it is quite watery 
4. Add oil and fry this thinly


 

C. Taufu
1. Just pan fry this taufu

Prepare the final touches - Noodles and Vegetables


 


1. You can eat this with spaghetti or the yellow noodles with bee hoon
2. Put some bean sprouts and lettuce in the hot water and served it with the noodles ;)

Chinese Cabbage Soup

1 Chinese Cabbage
2 Carrots
Some Minced Meat ( Can be Pork/ Beef or Chicken)
Some Prawns ( Minced)
Some "Kei Chi" (Gogi Berry)
Some Red Dates
Some Dried Anchovies/ Dried Scallops
Salt
Pepper
Soya Sauce
Corn Flour


Steps:
Marinate the Meat to make Meat Balls
1. Mix the Minced Meat and Prawns together
2. Add some soya sauce, salt , pepper and also 1 or 2 teaspoon of corn flour.
3. Mix the meat with the seasonings well and put aside while you prepare the rest


Prepare the Soup 
1. Wash and cut the Chinese Cabbage in smaller portion
2. Wash and cut the carrots into slices 
3. Wash the Kei Chi, Dried Achovies and Dried Scallops and add into the Soup Pot
4. Wash the Red Dates and cut into two
5. Make the meat into small balls and add into the Soup Pot
6. Add in water about 2 to 3 soup bowls and let it boil 
7. Add in salt, pepper and soya sauce according to own taste




Note: Usually I put into the thermal pot and once boil I will off the stove and let it cook in the 
thermal pot for at least 2 hours.

And it is ready to be served with rice or noodles. This soup is one of the kids' favourites.
